What Is NAFA
Native Arts and Fashion Academy (NAFA) was founded on 15 August 2017 as a visionary initiative of Guru Foundations Inc., with a mission to celebrate and advance the rich traditions of Arts, Culture, and Fashion in Papua New Guinea. Since its inception, NAFA has provided a meaningful platform for young people to responsibly pursue and grow careers in the creative industries.
The NAFA Group encompasses four dynamic divisions:
Native Arts and Fashion Academy – specializing in Fashion Design, Modelling, and Photography.
Music Masters of PNG (MMPNG) – dedicated to nurturing and developing musical talent.
NAFA Productions – the creative and media arm, producing and distributing music, dance, and film.
Paradise Dance Academy (PDA) – focused on performance and artistic expression through dance.
As an educational initiative of Guru Foundations Inc., NAFA Group is committed to structured, skills‑based training across diverse creative fields. It particularly seeks to engage young individuals who may lack access to formal education but possess strong passion and potential in the arts.
Currently, NAFA Group offers Certificate‑level programs that build foundational skills and open alternative career pathways. Looking ahead, the organization plans to collaborate with recognized institutions to deliver Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Degree programs in multiple artistic disciplines. This expansion underscores NAFA’s unwavering commitment to empowering youth, nurturing creativity, and driving the growth of Papua New Guinea’s cultural and creative industries.
WHO WE ARE
We are a creative and educational group dedicated to advancing Papua New Guinea’s rich cultural heritage through arts, fashion, music, dance, and media. Established as an initiative of Guru Foundations Inc., we provide meaningful opportunities for young people to explore and build careers in the creative industries.
What We Do
We train and mentor aspiring artists, designers, models, musicians, dancers, and performers.
We offer structured programs at Certificate level, with plans to expand into Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Degree pathways.
We create platforms for artistic expression through fashion shows, music production, dance performances, and media projects.
We empower youth who may not have access to formal education, helping them transform passion into professional skills.
We contribute to nation-building by nurturing creativity that strengthens communities and enriches Papua New Guinea’s cultural identity.
