Inspiring The Future Through Music
About Music Masters
Music Masters of PNG (MMPNG), a division of the Native Arts and Fashion Academy, is a premier music training institution dedicated to nurturing and promoting musical talent across Papua New Guinea.
Open to students aged six and above, MMPNG offers comprehensive training in a wide range of instruments including guitar, keyboard, piano, drums, violin, recorder, saxophone, and more. Alongside practical instruction, students gain a strong foundation in music theory, equipping them with the skills to read, write, and understand music confidently.
Currently, the school provides Level 1 and Level 2 Certificate Courses, with plans to expand into Diploma and Degree programs through partnerships with international music institutions. Students also benefit from opportunities to perform at corporate and cultural events, building stage presence, confidence, and professional experience.
MMPNG is making its mark internationally as well. The academy contributed tribal music to the acclaimed film Papa Buka, which is on its Oscar journey, with the original score composed by three-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej. This achievement highlights Papua New Guinea’s rich traditional sounds on the global stage and reflects MMPNG’s commitment to blending cultural heritage with modern musical innovation.
Music Masters of PNG believes that music is more than sound—it is a language of its own, capable of expressing what words often cannot. Every note, rhythm, and melody carries meaning, weaving together emotions, stories, and cultures into a shared experience.
At its core, music is harmony. It connects individuals to themselves, to others, and to the world around them. Through structured training and creative exploration, Music Masters helps students discover this harmony—building not only technical skill but also emotional depth and cultural appreciation.
Music transcends boundaries. It unites diverse voices, fosters collaboration, and empowers dreams. By nurturing talent and encouraging performance, Music Masters ensures that students don’t just learn to play instruments—they learn to speak the universal language of music, a language that inspires, heals, and connects humanity.
Music is a universal art form that organizes sound into rhythm, melody, and harmony, serving as both entertainment and a profound means of human expression. It exists in every culture, connects people emotionally, and plays a vital role in rituals, education, and social life.
But music is more than just sound—it is a language without borders. It speaks directly to the heart, conveying emotions that words often fail to capture. A single melody can inspire joy, evoke nostalgia, or bring comfort in times of sorrow.
Music also shapes identity and culture. From traditional chants and folk songs to symphonies and modern genres, it reflects the values, stories, and creativity of communities across the world. It is both a preserver of heritage and a driver of innovation.
Music nurtures well-being. It stimulates the brain, improves memory, reduces stress, and fosters creativity. Whether through listening, learning, or performing, music strengthens connections—between individuals, within communities, and across generations.
Ultimately, music is harmony in motion. It unites people, transcends differences, and reminds us of our shared humanity. Every beat, every note, and every song is a testament to the power of sound to inspire, heal, and transform lives.
